Dogs are no less important than you are, Japanese people.

I must speak out about the wholesale abandonment of dogs in Japan.  Yes, the Japanese have suffered a huge blow but to compound that blow by not taking their dogs to safety says something about their character.  I would no more leave my dog in danger than I would my child.  When CNN reported on the chained starving dog that a reporter gave his lunch to and then left the dog chained to basically die, I wept bitter tears that this innocent creature was left not once but twice during this tragedy.  Wake up, Japanese people and get back to your homes, or what is left of them, and find your dogs, cats, birds, and any other pet you have left behind.  Your karma depends on it.  They are no less Gods creatures than you are.  I cannot believe how callous this mass abandonment of your pets reveals you to be.  They deserve so much better.
